Import Customer Service Clerk

A well-known shipping firm in Liverpool is looking for an Import Customer Service Clerk to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone new to the industry to apply their existing customer service skills or alternatively for someone experienced within the shipping sector to gain additional experience for a well-respected company with a strong global presence.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Import Customer Service Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with customers
  • Processing manifests
  • Liaising closely with other departments
  • Booking deliveries
  • Acting as a point of contact for customer, depot and haulier
  • Invoicing of additional costs incurred en route to final destination
  • Calculate and invoice quay rent and demurrage costs incurred

Essential Requirements are:

  • Shipping/logistics experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Team player
