An International Shipping Line based in Liverpool city centre is currently looking to recruit an experienced and confident Credit Controller to join their team for a period of 6 months. The ideal candidate will have a proven background within Credit Control and previous experience of managing a high value ledger would be an advantage. Reporting to the Credit Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for following up with blue chip customers to obtain payment of invoices, developing strong working relationships with customers and managing any troublesome accounts.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded organisation within the Shipping industry as this contract has the potential to be extended beyond the initial 6 month period. The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing a ledger of customers based in the USA and as a result the working hours for this opportunity are 11am – 7pm.

The Credit Controller will be responsible for:

  • Daily receiving of payments ensuring all information is logged on to company system
  • Dispatching bills of lading on receipt of customer payments
  • Processing credit and debit card payments when necessary
  • Scheduling monitoring of payments performance leading to suspension of future bookings
  • Processing credit applications for new customer accounts and monitor credit limits with existing accounts
  • Build strong relationships with troublesome accounts to assist in the debt collection process

Essential Requirements are:

  • Previous experience within a similar position
  • Strong IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Available at short notice
