Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper

An established business services company based in Lancashire is recruiting for an Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper to join their team initially on a temporary basis but with good chance of permanence. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Accounts Manager will be responsible for the full accounting function up to trial balance and acting as a point of contact for the external accountants. The ideal candidate will be AAT Qualified and be comfortable using Sage 50, as well as being a confident and self-motivated.

The Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with month end procedures up to Trial Balance
  • Bank reconciliations
  • VAT returns
  • In-depth reconciliations
  • The full remit of Purchase Ledger including weekly invoicing
  • Ensuring invoices are correct and suppliers are paid on time and accurately
  • The full remit of Sales Ledger
  • Chasing any overdue money owed to the business
  • Checking, matching and processing timesheets
  • Dealing with any queries
  • HMRC returns

Essential Requirements are:

  • AAT Qualified
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50
  • Good understanding of MS Excel
  • Experience of working in a similar environment
  • Property Management experience is beneficial not essential
